Techiman Court Get Tough On Recalcitrant Driver

The Techiman Circuit Court has fined a 40year old cargo-truck driver Adams Ali, 12milliom cedis or in default 24 months imprisonment for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The court was presided over by Justice G. A. Kwesi Kuma.

Narrating the facts of the case to the court, Police Chief Inspector Comfort Nyamesah said, on the 4th January 2007 the Techiman Municipal Police Command led by Chief Inspector John Badu embarked on their usual motor checks on the various highways within the Municipality.

According to the prosecutor, the convict who was driving a Renault cargo truck with the registration number UW 807C was tested with ACOGUARD which he proved positive of alcohol with .169 percent. He was arrested and charged with that offence.

On passing sentence, the presiding judge Kwesi Kuma warned recalcitrant drivers to be discipline because he will not hesitate to deal with drivers who flaws over the motor and traffic regulations.
