The meeting between aggrieved teacher unions and government over unpaid allowances ended in a stalemate.

The National Association of Graduate Teachers and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers have now resolved to strike from Thursday if their allowances that have been in arrears are not paid.

Leaders of the unions have planned to meet again Wednesday over the impasse.

President of the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ernest Opoku told Starr News they will not back down on their demands.

“We met them on Monday and we are meeting them again on Wednesday. This time around, nothing is going to change our minds. We have been taken for granted for too long,” he fumed.
