Teachers Asked To Upgrade Knowledge

Tanoso (Brong Ahafo), 20 Oct. The Techiman District Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Mr Kwame Antwi-Boasiako, has urged teachers to constantly update their knowledge by reading newspapers and journals. He was addressing teachers at Tanoso, near Techiman, during the celebration of world teachers' day in the Tanoso education circuit. Mr Antwi-Boasiako who spoke on "the teachers' job is the most important of all professionals", asked teachers to ensure that they always exhibit moral uprightness. He advised them to study the country's educational policy to enable them to raise the standard of education. The teachers had earlier embarked on a two-hour clean-up exercise during which they desilted gutters and weeded the compound of the local health centre. The Tanoso education circuit chairman of GNAT, Mr Felix Sebeh who presided, commended the teachers for their efforts and asked them to work hard to justify the huge expenditure on education by both the government and parents.
