The Executive Secretary of the National Teaching Council (NTC), Dr Evelyn Oduro, has asked the general public to disregard publications that the Ghana Teaching Licensure Examination has been cancelled.

According to her, the examination still holds and will take place as scheduled.

A statement which has since been described as fake by the Council noted earlier that NTC has redirected that the Ghana Teaching Licensure Examination for newly trained teachers who completed Colleges of Education this year has been put on hold indefinitely following numerous calls from teacher unions.

But speaking on Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM hosted by Chief Jerry Forson on Wednesday, 15 August 2018, Dr Oduro said: “This is fake and must be disregarded, we haven’t issued any statement announcing the suspension of the examination.”

She added that the NTC is investigating the matter to find out who is behind the fake reports that the examination has been cancelled.
