Teacher arrested for defilement

Aflao, Oct. 08, GNA - Aflao Police have arrested Tony Efoe 22, a teacher and popularly called "Arrested" for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old JSS Form Two student and daughter of the headmaster of a private basic school at Denu.

Mr Ahmed Issah Yakubu, Assistant Superintendent of Police in charge of Aflao told Ghana News Agency that at about 1100 hours on September 27, Efoe lured his victim in a boarding house to his house at Avoeme, a suburb of Aflao and defiled her.

He said Efoe kept his victim overnight and released her in the afternoon of the next day with 50 Ghana Pesewas as a gift for her transport back to the boarding house. ASP Yakubu said Madam Akuvi Agobo, an executive member of the school's Parent Teacher Association confronted the victim when she was waiting to board a vehicle to school. He said Madam Agobo accompanied the victim to school who informed her father about her ordeal, a report was made to the police who arrested Efoe.

ASP Yakubu said early this year, Efoe was alleged to have attempted to defile a 13-year-old daughter of a Senior Security Officer at Aflao. He said Efoe would appear before court soon. 08 Oct. 07
