Taxi driver battles for his life following acid attack

A taxi driver whose name has been given as Kodwo Allegay is battling for his life at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Western Region, where he was rushed to on Thursday morning following an attack by some unknown assailants.

The assailants are said to have poured a substance suspected to be acid on him.

The incident happened at Agona Nkwanta in the wee hours of Thursday.

The police, according to Connect FM, say no official report has been made.

But Western Regional Police Command’s Public Relations Officer ASP Olivia Adiku assured of looking into the issue.

Kodwo Allegay, 29, a father of three, is said to have picked two men at Nsuaem to Agona Nkwanta, where they attacked him.

Struggling to narrate the incident from his hospital bed, the taxi driver said he was surprised the assailants made no attempt of making away with his 2017-registered Toyota Matrix.
