Take advantage of LVRE to register - Amartey-Mensah

Mr Daniel Amartey-Mensah, Aspiring Greater-Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has made a passionate appeal to members and supporters of the party who have attained the voting age, to register during the Limited Voter Registration Exercise (LVRE).

Making the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Mr Amartey-Mensah reminded non-registered members that they would be doing a great disservice to their party if they refused to take advantage of the exercise to get their names into the register.

He pointed out that the party can go to election 2016 with confidence only with numbers. The Regional Aspiring Chairman, therefore, urged registered members to encourage members who have attained the voting age and do not have their names in the register to do so without any delay.

‘This is the time we have to show our love for the party, by ensuring that non-registered members have their names in the voter register.

Mr Amartey-Mensah, the immediate past Municipal Chief Executive for Ledzokuku-Krowor, reminded members of the party that despite the challenges, as members of one big family, they should close their ranks so that with a united front, they could work hard to retain power in 2016.

On the impending Constituency Elections of the party, he advised contesting members to conduct their campaigns with decency and in a decorous manner, by trying to avoid insults and acrimony.

‘This is just an internal contest among family members, and so let us goes about it in a brotherly manner, and come out with the best for the party.’ Mr Amartey-Mensah urged members to intensify their mobilization drive of the Youth for the 2016 elections.

The opening of the re-scheduled revision of the Voter Register by the Electoral Commission begins on Monday, August 4.
