TUC Complains About Timing Of New Fuel Price Increase

The Secretary General of the TUC, Kofi Asamoah, says policy makers would need to critically look at the new fuel price increases so as not to worsen the plight of workers.

He told Radio Ghana that the timing of the increment is not the best since some workers still have problems with their December Salaries.

He said the TUC will be assessing the current situation and come out with a statement soon.

The National Petroleum Authority says the appeal by the Authority before court has nothing to do with the increase in the prices of Petroleum products.

The Public Relations Officer of NPA, Yaro Kasanbata, said the increase in world market prices of the commodity coupled with the depreciation of the cedi brought about the latest price hikes.

He told Radio Ghana that the NPA is hopeful the appeal would be in its favour to ensure that the fuel prices do not go up again.
