Takoradi, July 27, GNA - The entire 3,000 students of Takoradi Technical Institute (TTI), who boycotted the third term promotional examination and demonstrated against some of their teachers' for non performance, have now agreed to write the papers starting tomorrow Tuesday.

This followed a meeting attended by the Board of Governors, school authorities and the Students Representative Council (SRC).

Mr Benjamin Botwe, acting Principal of the TTI told the GNA that the examinations would last for two weeks, after which the school would break for its normal vacation.

Mr Botwe said the authorities would have meeting with the Parents Teacher Association (PTA), to deliberate on the matter to ensure the incident does not re-occur.

He however, expressed disappointed about the demonstration because every the students were taken through an orientation on the regulations of the school, which should be followed to the letter.

He mentioned the SCR, the Assistant headmaster in charge of Academic issues and the Senior House Masters as some of the structures where the students could lodge their complaints.

Last Monday the students embarked on a demonstration in protest against poor tuition by some of their teachers, frequent absenteeism by teachers and the lack of learning materials.

Meanwhile, the police are still guarding the school premises as result of the demonstration.
