The Voice reports on its front page that 32 dismissed teachers of St Paul's Methodist School at Tema are threatening to drag the school authorities to court for breach of contract. According to the Voice, the teachers who have had no professional training have served the school between five and 18 years. The paper says the mass dismissals were the result of the school's decision to increase school fees because of its current academic standard which makes it a Category "A" school. GRI

"State must assist political parties, says GCPP leader", is the headline of a story in the centre spread of the Voice. The story says the leader of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Mr Dan Lartey, has restated the position the party has always held that the state must give equal assistance to all the political parties as a necessary step towards attaining a level playing field. The Voice says Mr Larey urged Ghanaians not to be misquided by the remarks made in Tamale by the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, that parties alone should fund themselves. According to the paper, Mr Lartey said such sentiments negate the spirit of fairness that should prevail in a democratic environment. GRI
