THE GHANAIAN CHRONICLE*

The Chronicle says President Jerry Rawlings now has faith in the private press but finds presentation malicious. In a main front page story under the banner headline: "Rawlings' new faith in private press...Stories true, but presentation malicious:", the Chronicle says after years of a war of attrition during which the private press were at the wrong end of "Presidential justice", President Jerry John Rawlings finally passed a 'vote of confidence' in reports of what he termed the "tabloids", last Monday but stopped short of endorsing methods used by the private press to gather information, especially about high echelon of government. According to the Chronicle, while a number of stories were true from the 'Presidential lens', the Head of State indicted a number of the private press for 'their malicious presentation' of stories.
