TEWU holds conference to elect national officers

Kumasi, Aug 4, GNA - The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) will, on Tuesday, hold a conference at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology during which it will elect national officers for the next four years.

An official programme says the Third Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the TEWU women's wing will open on Tuesday and will be addressed by Ms Christine Chrucher, Minister of State for Basic Secondary and Girl-Child Education.

The Fourth General Meeting of TEWU Welfare Fund will follow it on Wednesday and on Thursday the Eighth Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the union will open at the Great Hall. Mr. Kwadwo Baah Wiredu, Minister of Education Youth and Sports, will deliver the keynote address.

Mr Yaw Barima, Minister of Manpower Development and Employment and Mr Kwasi Adu-Amankwaah, Secretary-General of the TUC will also address the conference.
