The Tertiary Educational and Institutions Network (T.E.I.N) Branch of the University of Ghana has issued a press statement congratulating president Mills for winning the ticket to lead the NDC to victory in 2012.
The statement read, “on Saturday, 9th July 2011 the delegates of the great National Democratic Congress (N.D.C) spoke unequivocally through the ballot box by endorsing his excellency President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills became the flag bearer again to lead our noble party in the 2012 general elections”.
The statement was issued and signed by its president, Rashid Nuhu which said among others that, “we the Tertiary Educational and Institutions Network (T.E.I.N) Branch of the University of Ghana seize this opportunity to congratulate his excellency, professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills on his victory to lead our great party”.
“We again wish to felicitate the former first lady, her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings for the clean contest. Invariably, it is our great tradition that came victorious not his Excellency. Mahatma Ghandi asserts that “an honest disagreement is a good sign of progress".
This victory does not come as a surprise because his Excellency has achieved so much in less than 3 years in office. For the first time, inflation hit a single digit in Ghana. Other economic indicators are good and there is massive infrastructural development across the country. Also, social interventions such as the distribution of free school uniforms, exercise books, laptops and scholarship scheme for students pursuing science related courses in tertiary institutions”, it noted.
They are confident of victory for the party in 2012. It assured that, “looking in to the future, it is as bright as the moon, and 2012 "Insha Allah" shall be a walk over. Nana Akufo Addo and his N.P.P have declared an "ALL DIE BE DIE" strategy which Ghanaian shall reject; Ghana will live forever and ever. We therefore wish to leave the N.P.P. youth with this saying by Herbert Clark Hoover in 1944 and it goes "it is older men that declare war but it is the youth that must fight and "die".
It added that, “we urge all members of our great National Democratic Congress to smoke the peace pipe for family squabbles are imminent in all political parties, the only challenge is how such squabbles are managed. We are very much ready for the 2012 election on the university of Ghana campus. Necessary measures are taken to ensure that the party wins the 2011 presidential and parliamentary election on campus”.
