Suspected armed robber lynched in Kumasi

A suspected armed robber in his early 30s, has been found dead on Wednesday dawn on the new road close to the Anloga traffic light in Kumasi.

The deceased is believed to have to been lynched by angry residents of the area after he was reported to have attempted to rob a nearby house.

As at nine o’clock in the morning when Ultimate News got to the scene, the incident attracted a sizeable number of onlookers causing vehicular traffic.

Ultimate News’ Ivan Heathcote – Fumador, reported that the body which had multiple machete wounds with some bullet pellets was left in the open beside the highway without any police on sight

According to eye witnesses, the young man is believed to be among a gang of robbers terrorizing residents Anloga, Asokwa and its environs usually in wee hours of the night.

Their modus operandi according to residents is stealing car batteries and attacking commuters on the lonely section of major routes in the area.

They recounted that he was chained to a mosque after the mob action but later escaped and dropped motionless beside the high way around 1am where he struggled in pain till he died at eight o’clock in the morning.

The traumatized menial workers working along the stretch narrated that he gave out a couple of phone numbers while struggling to pull out the bullet pellets from his badly wounded legs before giving up the ghost.
