Suspected armed robber dies from gunshot wounds

Tepa (Ash), April 13, GNA- Braimah Abubakari, a suspected armed robber had died from the bullet wounds he received when he and two members of his gang, now at large, attempted to steal three fuel measuring globes at a fuel station in the Ahafo-North District. The late Abubakari, whose body had been deposited at the Tepa District Hospital for autopsy, where he died whilst on admission, was on a stealing mission with his gang at 0100 hours on Wednesday at a fuel station at Bonkron.

Briefing newsmen, Mr Ampofo Duku, the District Police Commander, said police rushed to the scene of the crime when the complainant, Mr Fuseini Abdulai reported that he had shot an armed robber during an exchange of fire.

He said they rushed the deceased to the hospital for treatment but died later.

Mr Duku said the deceased gave his name and house number to the police and also named his accomplices as Abdulai from Asawase in Kumasi and Ibrahim from Ejura before he died.
