Former president John Dramani Mahama has slammed Multimedia Group Limited for getting involved in what he describes as ‘political propaganda,' in a move to tarnish his reputation.
The former President’s comment is in reaction to a news item by Joy FM's Evans Mensah on Monday, June 4, 2018 and subsequently carried on the company's online portal, myjoyonline.com alleging that he [John Mahama] had been 'fingered' in an ongoing probe into a case of bribery involving GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
According to the story, the former president together with some former government appointees may be investigated by the police CID over claims they benefitted from an $8 million donation by investor friends linked to Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The report further stated that “In a statement written by Mr Nyantakyi on May 23, excerpts of which have been gleaned by Joy News, the embattled FA president is reported as saying an amount of $8 million was given to Mr Mahama and the NDC ahead of 2016 elections”.
The former President who appears disgusted by the act perpetrated by the Multimedia Group in a tweet said the action by the media giant only “besmirches our common honour & sacrifices we’ve made as a people” after paying the ultimate price for the freedoms the nation is enjoying.

Over the years people fought & in some cases paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy today. When a supposedly respected media house like Multimedia allows itself to be used for political propaganda, it besmirches our common honour & the sacrifices we’ve made as a people
