Sunyani, July 11, - The Sunyani district secretariat of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has instituted a credit scheme to enhance the social image of its members to enable t The district secretary of the association, Mr Asan te Nketiah who disclosed this to the GNA at Sunyani yesterday said each of the over 2,000 teachers in the district will contribute 5,000 cedis a He said the scheme which would take off in September this year aims at providing loans to teachers to ena ble them put up buildings and buy other essential items. Mr Nketiah noted that the enhancement of the social image of teachers is necessary for the achievement of the country's educational objectives. He stated that it is only when teachers who are implementors of the country's educational policies are financially sound that they would be able to work hard to improve educational standards.
