Sunday rains leave residents stranded at Westland

Residents at Westland junction, a suburb of Accra were rendered stranded following Sunday rains which hit parts of the country.

The rain which lasted for over an hour caused the roads and houses to be submerged by flood.

As a result of this incident, several residents stood in awe, with some concerned about their properties and children.

Recently the issue of flood has been a major concern that has been trumpeted by many but no measure has since been put in place to rid the capital of this menace.

Over the years, several areas have been engulfed with the flood which has not only caused lives but also lost properties, not forgetting rendering some homeless.

The recent of the many flood occurrences is that of Accra Tema Motorway. On October 28, a section of the road was plunged by the flood causing gridlock and travellers with little hope as to their safety or when they will arrive at their destinations.
