Second cycle students in Gomoa-West District of the Central Region, have been sensitized on the symptoms, effects, and the dangers, posed by the Ebola and cholera diseases to the society.
The beneficiary schools were from Mozano, Gomoa Dawurampong, Mankoadze and Gomoa-Mprumem.
Mr Justice Peter Ansah, District Organiser of Ghana Red Cross Society, said the programme was organised with Ministry of Education.
It was supported by the United Nations Education and Children’s Fund and other foreign partners.
Mrs Florence Amoako, Senior Nursing Officer at Ewim Polyclinic in Cape Coast advised the students and teachers to desist from the eating monkeys and other bush meat since the Ebola virus are usually found in them.
She also educated the participants on proper washing of hands before eating.
