Students dismissed for poor academic performance

Akim Oda, Sept. 27, GNA - Sixty-five students of the Oda Secondary School (ODASCO) have been dismissed for poor academic performance.

Mr David Afosa-Anim, headmaster of the school announced this at the presentation of books worth over five million cedis to the school by Professor Nana K. Amoabeng, an old student, on Saturday.

He appealed to members of the Board of Governors of the school to co-operate with the school administration to help raise the academic standards in the school.

Mr. Afosa-Anim warned that the school authorities would not tolerate any form of indiscipline by students, adding that those who would not conform to the rules and regulations of the school would find their way out.

The president of the Past Students Association of ODASCO, Mr Kwame Amoasi Andoh, presented the books on behalf of the donor. The Birim South District Director of Education, Mrs Stella Nanor, received the books on behalf of the school.

Mr. Andoh charged the school authorities to ensure that the books are put to good use.
