Students Appeal To Striking Tutors To Resume Work

Mankessim Students of Cape Coast Polytechnic have appealed to polytechnic teachers, who are on strike to back their demand for a better working condition, to go back to the classroom while negotiations continue. The students have also appealed to the government to expedite action in finding lasting solutions to the teachers problems. Mr Victor Henry Abbey-Hart, president of the school's branch of Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) of National Democratic Congress made the appeal on behalf of the students at Mankessim at the weekend. Mr Abbey-Hart said a long absence of the teachers from the classroom will affect the performance of the students, especially those who are preparing for their final examinations. "Please have mercy on the final year students and go back to the classroom to help them," he pleaded.
