Stop thinking about ‘broke’ former NDC appointees - Kwaku Azar ‘schools’ Bagbin

Stephen Kwaku Asare a US-based legal practitioner and accounting professor popularly known on Facebook as Kwaku Azar has jabbed Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin over claims some founding fathers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and some former appointees are living sorry lives.

According to the NDC flagbearer hopeful, the NDC despite being in power on two occasions has done little to improve on the welfare of its members especially these elders which he indicates is having a heavy toll on the party.

“It pains my heart that from 1992 up to date, the members of the NDC are even poorer than they started. And if you look at the cadres, if you look at the founding fathers; if you look at the former office holders like Members of Parliament, DCEs and the rest, sometimes you ask yourself is it worth it? We are getting something wrong. We are not taking care of ourselves”, he noted.

“I am proposing ways and means of taking good care of ourselves lawfully. This is because you cannot have a good democracy without good political parties. You cannot have strong democracies without having strong political parties and you cannot have a good government without that culture being built in the party. So, I am going to lead the party and lead the country to be able to do this. Because one of the serious challenges confronting Africa is leadership failure. There are a lot of things that we are doing that are wasteful and I believe as a President, I will definitely cut them off and re-focus on where I believe will better the lot of Ghanaians than some individuals”, he noted

But in contrast, Kwaku Azar observes that politicians and their cronies are taking care of themselves whilst Ghanaians are getting poorer since the inception of the fourth republic.

What Alban S. K. Bagbin is saying: “It pains my heart that from 1992 up to date, the members of the NDC are even poorer than they started. What he and all politicians should be saying: “It pains my heart that from 1992 up to date, Ghanaians are even poorer than they started. And if you look at the children, if you look at the retirees; if you look at the teachers, nurses, farmers, graduates, vulcanizers, traders, and the rest, sometimes you ask yourself is it worth it? We are getting something wrong. Only we the politicians and our cronies are taking care of ourselves.”
