The Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Gifty Twum-Ampofo, has advised women to grow up and stop taking naked photos of themselves to avoid becoming victims of blackmail in future.
She said some wicked people always taken advantage of women who are naïve and therefore request their naked pictures when they get familiar with them.
Speaking to Akua Sonto on the ‘The Sonto Show,’ Ms Twum-Ampofo stated that women are very precious in the sight of God and as such must take care of their bodies.
“Women just have to grow up in terms of what they’re taking and loading onto their phones or computer because the risk is so high,” she added.
She explained that when a naked or sexual image of a person is shared without her consent to humiliate or embarrass her, the law would take its course, but by then the victim would have already gone through a lot of psychological trauma.
Ms Twum-Ampofo, therefore, urged parents to keep an eye on their children always.
‘The Sonto Show’ is aired every Sunday from 5:00 p.m. – 5:30p.m. on Agoo TV and discusses social and health issues and real life stories.
