The opposition NDC wants President Akufo-Addo to halt the alleged intimidation against officials and students of the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Nalerigu.

This comes after a viral video emerged where some alleged trainees of the college were seen apologizing to the former President John Dramani Mahama for contributing to his defeat in the 2016 elections.

The College has since launched a full-scale investigation into the matter after revealing some of the students were rented by the opposition NDC leader.

But the NDC has said it’s disappointed in the authorities of the College after they distanced themselves from the issue.

The North East Regional Communications Officer of the NDC, Imoro Abdul Razak told sister station Starr Fm that there are threats and intimidation from the corridors of power to punish officials of the school following the viral video.

“…We’ve since gathered very credible and reliable information that calls have emanated from the office of the Vice President and President putting pressure on the Principal and they have even since summoned; and they’ve invited the principal and other staff to come to Accra to answer for the conduct of those adults.”

He added: “…the TEIN President of Nalerigu Nursing and Midwifery Training College was called; and we have audio recording of that, by the North East regional BNI Director to report to the BNI office on Monday.
