Stevanovic hails Black Stars performance

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic pays tribute to his side after the Black Stars marched on to claim their spot at the 2012 Africa Nations Cup.

Stevanovic in a post game reaction said he is delighted by the way in which the Black Stars earned their qualification, beating Sudan 2-0 in Omdurman on Saturday, courtesy first half goals from Asamoah Gyan and John Mensah.

Ghana, who ended the game with ten men following the dismissal of Isaac Vorsah in the 57th minute qualify from Group I, where the finished top of the table with 16 points, after recording five wins and a draw in six games. The Black Stars scored a total of 13 and conceded just a goal.

The Black Stars secured their spot at the finals of next year's competition in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea after ending the campaign with an unbeaten record.

"We are really satisfied. You can see that I like playing football, technical football [sic]. Playing not long ball and always Ghana plays everywhere and the impression is the same," Stevanovic said.

"We can draw, lose, win but we play the same way."

Ghana, four-time champions, join co-hosts Gabon and Equatorial Guinea, Ivory Coast, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Zambia, Mali, Guinea, Angola, Tunisia, Niger and Libya to book their places in the finals with the remaining two slots to be filled on Sunday.
