Stay away from registration centres – Wontumi warns Delta Force members

The leadership of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a stern warning to members of the defunct Delta Force, a vigilante group that hitherto played key roles in the party stay away from registration centres in order to avert against fomenting troubles in the ongoing limited voters’ registration across the country.

“No vigilante group; being it Delta Force, Invincible Force and even that of NDC’s The Hawks has been sent to go and monitor development for us”, Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako stated.

According to the Regional Chairman, the elephant family is no longer in bed with members of the group and in line with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s directive for the disbandment of vigilante groups in the country.

“The party does not have any connection with anyone…in the unlikely situation they are seen around and fomenting troubles, it is not the party which has sent them”, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako spoke on a local radio station in Kumasi monitored by MyNewsGh.com, dissociated the NPP from the activities of Delta Force.

The Regional Chairman who on many occasions mounted a spirited defense for Delta Force members on their illegal activities, directed the security agencies to deal ruthlessly with anyone who will break the laws.

“I will support the police to arrest and prosecute any member of NPP or NDC and any other political party who intent to cause confusion in the registration exercise”, he added.
