Stanbic Bank donates GHC100,000 to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital

Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited has donated an amount of GHC100,000 to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The donation on Friday, July 14, 2017, was as part of the Bank’s corporate social responsibility to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to pay off its debt owed food suppliers.

Speaking on behalf of Stanbic Bank, Mr. Kojo Akoi Larbi, Communication Manager said the bank wants to be associated with efforts of transforming the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital into a one stop shop medical destination.

“Stanbic Bank Ghana has a long standing relationship with Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and this gesture is to help the hospital pay off its debts”, he said.

Mr. Larbi highlighted other interventions that Stanbic Bank has done to support the Hospital, he mentioned the Hospital Management Information System Software (HMISS) that enables management of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to monitor the various department in the hospital.

“The HMISS is currently being piloted in the medical ward and it is going to help the hospital retrieve all its revenue due” he added.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, Dr. Felix Anyah, Chief Executive Officer of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital said, the gesture will go a long way to relieve the hospital of the longstanding debts.

According to him, management of the hospital is putting in place strategies to face-lift the hospital into a modernised medical destination to attract foreign and middle-class medical tourist.
