Sports minister curses detractors with sun, wind

Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie-Ankah, has expressed disgust over what he described as ‘the lies being peddled’ to tarnish his image.

The minister lamented that there had been a series of concocted stories aimed at distracting him at a time when the Mundial was looming.

He consequently cursed the hidden faces behind the false stories being peddled about him with the sun and wind.

“I leave those people that are concocting false stories with the sole intention of tarnishing my hard won image to God.

“If the sun shines it will deal with them and if the wind blows it will also deal with them, drastically.

“I am a clean person and I have been serving my country with an open and sincere heart, so those that are planning evil against me will suffer.”

A recording of Hon. Afriyie-Ankrah’s voice, which was played on Angel FM in Kumasi, portrayed the minister as going berserk over attempts by some people to bring him down.

He said those hidden faces started spreading rumours that he should be replaced as Sports Minister before the World Cup starts.

According to him, they followed it up by accusing him (Hon. Ankrah) of trying to horde Black Stars money to help his presidential ambition, later on.

The minister said he was accused of collecting bribe from a travel and tour company, regarding the airlifting of soccer fans to Brazil.

He stated that he was serving his country with an open heart, noting that he had never collected bribe in his life.
