Some presidential aspirants are in for money - Akosa

Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa

Former Director of Ghana Health Services Prof Agyeman Badu Akosa says the lust for amassing wealth is the compelling force behind the scramble by many to lead the country.

Speaking in an interview with Onua News, he claimed some persons vying to become presidential candidates are self-centred and do not have the interest of the nation and the citizenry at heart.

Prof. Badu Akosa contested for the flagbearership slot of Convention People's Party in 2007, which he lost to Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom.
He bemoaned the situation where politicians break away to form their own parties when, in the interest of the party, other candidates are chosen over them.

Many of such politicians are in Ghana’s electoral system aspiring to become presidents, he said.
In his observation, many of these people would use all possible means at getting to compete for presidential election when in fact they are aware that they cannot win.
