Some NPP delegates in Okaikoi North declare support for Allan Kyerematen

Accra, Aug. 6, GNA - Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in Okaikoi North Constituency on Friday declared their support for Mr John Allan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, one of the Flagbearer aspirants ahead of the party's congress on Saturday, August 7.

The delegates, who call themselves "Core NPP supporters in Okaikoi North", said Mr Kyeremanten was the best person to lead NPP to wrest power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Election 2012.

Alhaji Kamil Hussain, Spokesperson for the group, declared that majority of the delegates in the constituency were behind Mr Kyeremanten.

He appealed to the other delegates not to vote for someone who was popular only within the party but someone who would appeal to majority of Ghanaians especially floating voters.

He said that the grassroots members especially the delegates were aware of the track record of Mr Kyeremanten both in the private and public service of the Ghanaian economy.

Alhaji Hussain, who is also the campaign representative of Mr Kyeremnaten in the constituency, said Mr Kyeremanten was young, intelligent, affable and selfless, contrary to people's perception that Mr Kyeremanten was not a founding member of the NPP.

He said that Mr Kyeremanten had been with the party since its inception in 1992 and a member of the Young Executive Forum.

Alhaji Hussain who is also Chairman of Nasara Club in the constituency said Mr Kyeremanten was the only aspirant who could unite the party after the congress because of his magnanimity and humility.

Mr Francis Laaro, a Polling Station agent for Mr Kyeremanten, called on the delegates to vote for Mr Kyeremanten because "he is the only person who is acceptable by all and sundry including opponents of the NPP".

"Most of the delegates are just looking at the NPP and not the broader picture. There are many floating voters therefore, the NPP must elect an aspirant who resonates with these people, "he added.
