Ghana winger Solomon Asante rescued a point for Phoenix Rising after registering a brace in their 3-3 home draw against New Mexico United in the USL Championship on Saturday.

The visitors broke the virginity of the game in the 16th minute when Santi Moar hit a curling shot to the far right side of the net from the top of the box to make it 1-0.

Asante equalised for Phoenix Rising in the 29th minute from the spot.

A minute after Asante’s equalizer, former Phoenix Rising forward Kevaughn Frater blasted a long range drive to put the visitors 2-1 in front before the break.

Junior Flemmings was taken down in the box to set up another Asante penalty kick which he flawlessly converted few minutes after the break.

New Mexico United’s Moar scored his second goal of the match, to out the visitors in front for the third time inba row.

But Phoenix Rising were not ready to be defeated as Johnson magically blasted home the equaliser to leave the full time score at 3-3.

Asante was the captain of the side that impressive outing for his side.
