Six Nigerian con men held...

The Daily Graphic reports in its top story that a gang of Nigerian fraudsters who entice prospective investors into Ghana for joint ventureship but end up duping them, have been arrested by the police in Accra. The Graphic says so far, six people have been arrested in two separate operations at Adenta and La The are: Albert Perry Ojobo Okpor, 30, Stanley Akatakpo, 38, and Tuborungi Omoreshi, 27.

The rest are Dominic Izek, Uche Anya, and Harrison Kalu.

The Graphic quotes a police source in Accra as saying that the operations at Adenta revealed a number items including a fax machine, money-counting machine, three mobile phones, a printer and other communication gadgets, as well as documents including letters written to the unsuspecting foreign investors and their replies, which were seized.

According to the police source, in the La operation, letters and some fake documents, 384,000 cedis and $200 cash, as well as black papers cut to the size of $100 bills, were seized. The fraudsters were said to have managed to collect $5,000 from two Russians as registration fee for a business.
