Gwollu (U/W), Dec. 12, GNA - The Sissala West Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party retained Mr Dramani Bukari as its chairman for the next four years at its congress held at Gwollu in the Sissala West District.
He polled 161 votes to beat his challenger, Mr Alhassan Kanton who had 132 votes while Mr Alhassan Nyali Monto obtained 151 votes to beat Mohammed Zakaria Bakor for the position of Secretary.
For the position of Constituency Organizer, Mr Karim Moro polled 171 votes to shrug off Mahama Abu Meke who had 129 votes. The position of Youth Organizer went to Mr Mohammed Naaza who had 171 votes to beat his opponent, Mr Amissah Wibereh who gathered 126 votes. The other executives who were all elected unopposed are Mr Abdul-Razak Walla for First Vice-Chairman, Mr Issifu Sulemani, Second Vice-Chairman and Mr Yahaya Halidu Vice-Secretary. Mr Sala Nuhu became the Women's Organizer while the position of Treasurer went to Mr Salia Sumani. Mr Bukari called on the delegates to remain united behind the party and not to break away because their candidates failed to win in the election.
He pledged to get all party supporters in the constituency on board to ensure that the party comes back to power in 2012. 11 Dec 09
