Sir John in Connecticut

I Have Absolute Faith in SC Judges” – Sir John
As rumors circulate among detractors that NPP General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John has disappeared from the Ghanaian political landscape, he appeared Sunday evening in Hartford, Connecticut in the United States to herald a Town Hall Meeting with Ghanaians. The NPP scribe called off a planned vacation in Dallas, Texas to tour cities in the United States to educate Ghanaians in that country on the Supreme Court petition and to caution them on the need for all Ghanaians to not only refrain from pre-judging the case, but to prepare to embrace the eventual decision returned by the Justices.

Sir John answered a series of questions including one that enquired about his own impression of the nine Justices and their ability to return a fair verdict especially in light of his famous contemptuous brush with Justice Atuguba. “Thanks God the petition hearings was televised,” Sir John said. “Now the whole world has seen the evidence, and I have absolute faith that the Justices will return the right verdict. But I cannot see how they leave Mahama as president.”

Asked what the NPP would do if the Justices return a verdict that maintained the status quo of the Mahama presidency, the NPP scribe said “well, we would regroup to fight again in 2016.” On NPP’s confidence in EC Chairman Dr. Afari Gyan, Sir John was unambiguous in his lack of confidence given the facts that have emerged on irregularities, malpractices, omissions, and violations that characterized the 2012 elections.

Sir John has visited Ghanaian communities in Denver, Colorado; North Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia; and will visit New York City’s Ghanaian community before returning to Ghana.
