Shell to terminate contract of dealers who hoard petroleum products

Kumasi (Ashanti Region) - Shell Ghana has warned that contracts with its service station dealers would be terminated if they were found to have indulged in speculation of petroleum price increases to create artificial shortages.

Mr. Joseph Baah, Retail Executive of the company in-charge of Kumasi West, who gave the warning, said although the supply of particularly diesel to Kumasi was inadequate, the dealers, should ensure that they sell out as and when they take delivery of the product. Speaking at the opening of a 600 million-cedi renovated and refurbished Sofoline Service Station and Shell Shop in Kumasi on Saturday Mr. Baah said the massive investment put into the renovation of the service stations was a clear demonstration of the company's determination to improve its service delivery.

This brings to 22, the number of Shell service stations in the metropolis that have been given face-lift.

In all, the company operates 26 outlets within the Kumasi metropolitan area.

The Manager of the Sofoline station, Mr. Osei Antwi assured the public of quality and customer friendly services.
