Sheila Brogya-Sarpong recognised for exceptional contribution to child welfare and healthcare

Devoted philanthropist and executive director of Brogya Foundation, Sheila Brogya-Sarpong (nee Sheila Ofori), has been honoured with the prestigious award for “Most Outstanding Woman in Child Welfare and Healthcare Access Initiative” at the 11th edition of the Feminine Ghana Achievements Awards, held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Brogya-Sarpong was recognised for her dynamic leadership and humanitarian efforts through the Brogya Foundation—a child welfare charity organization which she co-runs with her husband, Nana Bediako Brogya-Sarpong, the Dompiahene of Asante Akyem Agogo.

Organised by The Business Executive, the awards celebrates leading women creating lasting impacts in society and shaping a world where every child has access to love, care, education and healthcare.

Sheila Brogya Sarpong has spearheaded many projects of the foundation including a strategic partnership with RESTORE Worldwide, led by renowned Ghanaian-American plastic surgeon, Dr Michael K. Obeng, to offer free reconstructive surgeries at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital.

Another standout achievement was the donation of phototherapy equipment and infant incubator to the Agogo Presbyterian hospital to help reduce infant mortality rate, and an annual feasting and sharing of educational materials for thousands of children within Agogo and nearby towns.

She is a director of Legible Ink Consults, a general and security print firm, and doubles as the executive director of the Brogya Foundation, an NGO dedicated to the orphaned and vulnerable children in society.

Mrs. Brogya-Sarpong is an alumnus of Aburi Girls Senior High School and University of Ghana, Legon. She also holds an LLB from Mountcrest University College, and a Master of Law (LLM) in Information Technology from the University of Ghana School of Law.

She is committed to developing a multi-purpose complex to provide holistic care, education and skills development t for underprivileged children. Through this transformative initiative, the Brogya Foundation seeks to equip vulnerable youth with the resources to thrive, creating legacy of hope and opportunity for future generation.
