A young Ghanaian woman named Jennifer, who is struggling with her involvement in lesbianism, has shared her story of how she lost her mother due to her relationship with women.

Jennifer, currently seeking refuge, recounted her ordeal on Sompa Nkomo, a show on Sompa TV.

She explained that she had fallen ill and, upon visiting the hospital, was diagnosed by a doctor who mentioned her involvement in lesbian activities.

"I need help. I am a lesbian, and I want to stop. I was in my first year of secondary school when one day, while I was late to the bathhouse, one of my seniors came in and told me I looked attractive.

“In the evening, when I went to bathe again, she came and touched my breast. I asked her why, and she responded that it was normal for her to do that. This continued for a while. My parents didn’t have much at the time, so the senior used to give me a lot of provisions.

“One day, she asked me to repay her for the gifts. She told me she liked me, but I said I was a virgin and that Christianity was against it, so I wasn’t interested. However, she insisted that I repay her for the things she had given me, so eventually, I gave in. I became part of them, and they gave me a different partner to date," she said.

She stated that her mother, upon learning of her activities with LGBT, advised her against such practices. However, some months later, she caught her in the act, leading to her death.

"I wanted my mother to know that I had stopped, so I started dating a man, with whom I now have a child. The boy didn’t have much money, but I wanted my mother to see that I was no longer involved in lesbianism and was with a man. My mum didn’t even want me to give anything to the child; she didn’t accept anything from me for the baby.

“One day, my mother visited me and caught me with my lady partner in bed. She collapsed and was taken to the hospital. During one of my visits to the hospital, I was told that she had high blood pressure. One day, when I went to see her, she collapsed from her hospital bed after seeing me and died,” she added.

Jennifer continued her story, saying, "I started nursing school and reached my second year, but the woman I was dating supported me financially. When I told her that I could no longer continue with lesbianism, she stopped supporting me, so I had to quit school."

Jennifer is now seeking help to change her life.

"I want to stop, so if I can find someone to pray for me, I also need work."
