‘Sex-for-cash’ man goes in for 15 years

A 28 year old auto mechanic who defiled a three year old girl for riches will have to spend the next 15 years of his life in prison.

Relatives and friends of Kwasi Boakye broke into tears when the Nsuta Circuit Court Judge, Kofi Nyanteh Akuffo, pronounced judgment on him.

“To forcibly have sex with an adult is cruel and wicked but to do so with a 3 year old child is nothing short of barbarism and savagery at its apogee”, stated Judge Akuffo.

Kwasi Boakye was found guilty of sexually abusing the child in a bush at Kofiase near Mampong in the Ashanti region.

Prosecution told the court Boakye’s father had told him the family had hidden treasure of gold at an unknown location at a town called Benim, also near Mampong.

The auto mechanic consulted spiritualist identified only as Ibrahim who offered to help him locate and retrieve the pot of gold.

Police say the ‘juju’ man asked Boakye to have sex with a child of between two and five years and collect blood from the bleeding victim for the ritual.

With a white handkerchief supplied by Ibrahim, the convict seized the girl, dragged her into the bush and sexually abused her.

The victim told her parents about the ordeal, and a report was made to police, but Boakye absconded.

A little over a month later, the little girl, in the company of her mother, spotted and identified Boakye and he was arrested.

Police are still searching for Ibrahim who is at large.
