Sex Video Takes Over Election

The former Minister for Information and the current Deputy Central Region Minister are at each other’s throat over who is circulating a sex video that purportedly has shown the latter having hot sexual encounter with a Sunyani polytechnic student by name Belinda Asante alias Maame Asantewaa, in a plush Accra hotel.

The two, Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate and Mr. Aquinas Tawiah –Quansah, the current Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantsiman West Constituency in the Central Region are trading verbal blows over who is behind the circulation of the sex video.

The Deputy Minister last week told an Accra-based radio XYZ that Mr. Asamoah-Boateng was behind the circulation of the video to make a political capital out of it.

The Herald is informed that agents of Mr. Asamoah-Boateng are said to be trying to have the video shown to the public in the constituency capital Mankessim, but the MP’s agents are also said to be waiting, baiting their breath to pounce on them if they dare show up to do the unthinkable.

But a statement issued by the former Minister said his attention had been drawn to an allegation from the Deputy Minister that ‘I am behind the circulation of a supposed sex video in circulation in which he was believed to be the male sex partner on the videos’.

He said he had read the allegation from Aquinas Tawiah-Quansah on the website of radio XYZ and also in The Herald newspaper and several other websites.

‘I am also aware of a desperate attempt by him (the Deputy Minister) and his cohorts to put out a fake text message allegedly emanating from me’ he said

He stated on record that Mr. Aquinas Tawiah- Quansah’s allegations were not only untrue and spurious but also a figment of his own imagination.

For the records, ‘I have not seen the said sex video and I cannot be said to be the one circulating a video I have not seen. I am focused on my campaign within the Constituency , propagating the good message of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as I look up unto the Lord for his blessing on my parliamentary ambitions ‘ he said

H e denied being behind the circulation of the video and considered it unfair for Aquinas Tawiah –Quansah and cohorts to drag his name into this scandal when he knew very well that ‘ I was neither part of his love –connections nor present when he did whatever he is alleged to have done in the said video’

He categorically said “I was not and do not wish to be part of anything in that sex video”.

He called on the Deputy Minister to focus on the issues and address them directly.

He reminded the Deputy Minister to take his leads from The Herald since it had mentioned the name of the said sex partner in the video and gave an explanation as to how and why the video was recorded.

He said this information alone was enough lead for Aquinas Tawiah –Quansah to get to the bottom of the problem.

Meanwhile, Mr. Asamoah-Boateng, prior to the statement, has told The Herald that he was in possession of the sex video but he is yet to watch it. He however, confirmed that his agents had watched the sex video, which he claimed was in circulation in the Mankessim township.
