Several houses have again been demolished at Amrahia near Oyibi along the Adenta-Dodowa road corridor to make way for ongoing construction works being undertaken by Oswal Investments Ltd.
The demolitions form part of efforts to expand and upgrade the corridor, which has become increasingly congested due to rapid settlement growth and rising vehicular traffic along the stretch.
The project is being executed under the government’s Big Push infrastructure programme, aimed at accelerating key road developments across the country. Authorities say funding has already been secured under the initiative to ensure the project is completed on schedule.

The Adenta-Dodowa road upgrade is expected to significantly improve travel time, enhance road safety, and ease traffic congestion for commuters who depend on the corridor daily for work and business activities.
Oswal Investments Ltd is also working on the Dodowa-Afienya-Dawhenya road project, which is about 38% complete after just four months of construction.
The company says work is progressing steadily, with major sections already taking shape.
In addition, reconstruction works on the Dodowa-Somanya road are expected to begin in June 2026, pending approval of the final design by the Ghana Highway Authority.
Residents in affected communities have been seen relocating their belongings as demolition works continue along the project route, with authorities indicating that the exercise is necessary to allow uninterrupted construction and proper alignment of the upgraded road network.
The road projects form part of broader efforts to improve transport infrastructure in the Greater Accra and Eastern corridors, aimed at boosting economic activity and enhancing connectivity between key communities.
Meanwhile, the scope of works for the Adenta-Dodowa Road Project covers a 66km stretch designed to improve traffic flow along the corridor. It includes a 2x4 lane section from Km 0+000 to Km 8+000 (8km), a 2x3 lane section from Km 8+000 to Km 14+000 (6km), and a 2x2 lane section from Km 14+000 to Km 22+000 (8km), bringing the total project length to 66km.
Additional works include 44km of roadside drains, seven roundabouts, and 23 intersections, as well as the installation of streetlights, traffic signals, footbridges, and pedestrian walkways along the entire stretch to enhance safety for road users.
