Seven seriously injured on Accra-Tema motorway

Ashaiman, June 05, GNA - Seven people, including a seven-year-old boy and a staff of TV 3, were seriously injured in two separate accidents on the Accra-Tema motorway on Monday.

The six were taken to the Tema General Hospital while the TV 3 worker, whose name was given as Obodai, was sent to the Narh-Bita Hospital all in critical condition.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Timothy Dassah, MTTU Commander in-charge of Ashaiman, told the GNA that the boy could not talk and the taxi driver in whose car he was cannot be traced.

He said the first accident involved a Peugeot 505 that was travelling from Accra to Tema and the only person in it was the TV 3 worker. He lost control of the steering wheel and run into a gutter.

A few hours later the driver of a Hyundai Excel lost control, jumped over a gutter and run into a taxi that was travelling from Tema to Accra and injured all the five occupants including the boy.
