Serbia changes laws on visa

Accra, May 26, GNA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration on Tuesday drew the attention of the travelling public to a law on foreigners passed by the Serbian Parliament in October last year.

A statement signed by Ms Georgina Djameh, Acting Director, Information and Linguistic Bureau, said in accordance with the regulation, foreign citizens may no longer obtain entry visas at the border.

It said as of April 1, 2009, the immigration officers were authorised to issue single entry visa for 15 days only in exceptional situations.

It said this situation was "when foreigners travelling to Serbia did not get an opportunity to apply for a visa at the Serbia mission abroad or submit documentation on the urgency of the trip and on humanitarian grounds".
