Senior Citizen admonishes JJ

“It is God who ordains Presidents”

-Be careful you don’t incur his wrath

A prominent Ghanaian senior citizen, who is well-versed in the nation’s politics since independence, has cautioned the Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President, Jerry John Rawlings to value the will of God even as he prepares to meet him to account for his stewardship here on earth.

The senior citizen, who for now wants his identity protected, in an exclusive interview with The Al-Hajj on the occasion of the Easter celebrations, said, much as he is an enthusiast of the man who has ruled Ghana for the longest, he is afraid of the consequences likely to come upon Rawlings if he continued facing up to the authority of God, who in His Infinity insists, is a jealous Supernatural Being.

The concerns of this elder Statesman, according him, arise from the former President’s persistent utter disregard and contempt for God’s desires. He cited Rawlings’ aversion of all leaders of this country before and after him as Head of State.

Quoting Romans 13: 1-2 of the Christian Bible, which reads: “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities? For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore he who resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment”, to buttress his apprehensions.

The senior citizen therefore cautioned Mr. Jerry John Rawlings to be mindful not to incur the wrath of God.

“I am scared for him (Rawlings) he is allowing his ego to blind his responsibilities to his creator and mankind and the end result as we know and just like Lucifer, is self destruction,” he warned.

According to the elder statesman, he was alarmed by the former President’s reactions to the suspension of his spokesman, who also doubles as a Deputy General Secretary of his ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party, which is the highest decision making body after Congress.

He said the NDC founder per that press statement has indeed exposed his abhorrence and disgust for Professor John Mills as President of Ghana and the NDC as a government.

“What has Mills and his government done to warrant such scathing attacks from him? Was it Mills or his government that suspended his aide, Kofi Adams?” he wondered.

“Indeed, Jerry has now proved beyond any shred of doubt that he is a congenital anti-establishment,” he stressed in disappointment.
