Senator Accused of Involvement in Ghana Coup

THE Nigerian Senate yesterday sent its controversial member, Chief Arthur Nzeribe on indefinite suspension, with Senate President, Chief Pius Anyim accusing him (Nzeribe) of defrauding the Senate to the tune of N22.082 million. But Senator Nzeribe who claimed he had submitted an impeachment motion on the Senate President as well as a motion for the discontinuation of the impeachment moves against President Olusegun Obasanjo dismissed his suspension as "infantile as the man that conceived the idea."

The senator is also accused of:

“seriously associated with the infamous and well-known overthrow of a national government in the Republic of Ghana in the early 70s.”
