The Prelate of Worldwide Word Ministries, Hill City Church, Prophet John Anokye, has urged fellow clergy to desist from selling items to their congregations.

According to him, the church is not a marketplace for pastors to trade but rather a platform to distribute the gospel of God and help minimize social vices in the community.

He explained that if churches train their congregations with the word of God, social vices such as prostitution, armed robbery, and other crimes would be significantly reduced.

Speaking during the launch of the church’s 9th-anniversary celebrations on February 10, 2025, he stated, “The church is not a marketplace. We are not supposed to sell items but rather preach the word of God.”

“The product we offer is the word of God, and by using it to train pastors and believers, we can help curb armed robbery, prostitution, and other social vices.

“…We must also educate and support others who look up to us as spiritual leaders,” he emphasized.

As the church marks this significant milestone, Prophet Anokye reminded members of their divine calling to be a results-driven, truth-proclaiming, and solution-oriented global ministry.

The theme of this year’s anniversary, “Greater Mandate,” reflects the ministry’s commitment to expanding its reach and impact.

“We are driven by the Holy Spirit to fulfill our divine mandate and bring transformation to countless lives. This ‘Greater Mandate’ will propel us to greater heights, enabling us to make a more significant impact in people’s lives,” Prophet Anokye declared.

The anniversary celebrations, running from February 10 to 16, will feature a range of events, including a crusade, worship night, prophetic service, celebration, clean-up exercise, football match, and a culminating Breaking of Bread Ceremony.

Prophet John Anokye highlighted that over the years, the church has engaged in numerous social activities as a way of giving back to society, aside from winning souls for the Kingdom of God.

“We invite the general public to join us in celebrating God’s faithfulness and experiencing the ‘Greater Mandate’ bestowed upon us. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the support of our dedicated members, Worldwide Word Ministries will continue to shine as a beacon of hope, transformation, and divine purpose,” Prophet Anokye concluded.
