Sefwi-Wiawso Assembly undertakes more projects

Sefwi-Wiawso (W/R), April 21, GNA 97 The Sefwi-Wiawso District Assembly has completed some development projects in the district over the last two years with the District Common Fund and District Development Fund.

The District Chief Executive, Mr. Stephen Wilks Kofi Mensah, told the GNA in an interview that the Assembly had completed a three-unit meat shop valued at 62,405.60 Ghana cedis at Sefwi-Wiawso market. The Assembly had built a two-storey chain of stores at the cost of GHc270, 599.71 at Dwinase and supplied 500 mono desks and 500 dual desks to lower and upper primary schools worth GHc46,200. The Assembly had completed a two-storey community health nursing training hostel valued at GHc319, 086.21 at Asofa, completed a classroom block with stores, offices, staff common room, library as well as two-unit pre-school classroom block with store, office and sleeping room costing GHc38,210.24 at Wiase.

Other projects are re-shaping of roads at Adiembra and other adjoining communities at the cost of GH28, 135.80, six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities costing 149,252.46. Mr. Mensah said the assembly had also rehabilitated community libraries, built an office complex for the district mutual health insurance as well as the construction of a light industrial area at Nyamebekyere for small scale businesses.

The Assembly last year rehabilitated the district administrative block at the cost of 55,229.30 Ghana cedis as well as construction of a guest house toransit pass the night which would also generate additional income for the assembly.

With regard to addressing recreation concerns, Mr. Mensah said, the assembly rehabilitated a social centre at Sefwi-Wiawso at the cost of 56,799.02 Ghana Cedis.
