Security man defiles 8-year-old

Tema, March 11, GNA - A security man with a private company was on Wednesday jailed 10 years by the Tema Circuit Court "B" for defiling an eight-year-old girl.

William Kissi, of Inter Pack Security in Tema, pleaded not guilty. Prosecuting, Police Inspector Teye Martey told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that Kissi lived at Ashaiman New Town with the victim and they also used the same toilet owed by her sister.

He said on March 6, 2003 while the victim was attending to nature's call, William also entered the toilet, and on seeing her, accused told her to tidy up herself.

Inspector Martey said when the accused person ordered the little girl to stand on the toilet she obliged and he warned her not to tell anybody what he was going to do to her, otherwise she would die. Accused had sex with her and in the act the victim's younger brother opened the door and saw them but left quietly.

Inspector Martey said five days later, the victim fell sick and she was sent to the Tema General Hospital for treatment and the medical officer after examining her, disclosed to victim's sister that she had been sexually assaulted.

Upon interrogation the girl mentioned William, as the one who had sex with her on eight occasions.

From the hospital, a report was made to the Ashaiman Police who arrested the accused person.
