Security man, 42 defiles girl

Cape Coast, May 12, GNA - Nuru Mohammed, a forty two year old security man who allegedly defiled a fifteen year old primary six girl was on Monday remanded in prison custody by a circuit court in Cape Coast.

He pleaded not guilty and would be re-arrainged on Tuesday May 12. The court presided over by Mr Beresford Acquah, refused him bail when his council pleaded with the court to do so. Prosecuting Chief Inspector, Hope Azasoo told the court that the victim live with her parents at Assin Fosu and came to Cape Coast on April 27 to visit her grandmother, but when she got to her house at 1700 hours, she was told her grandmother has fallen sick and had been hospitalized.

The Chief Inspector said the victim then decided to go back to Assin Fosu and went to the Aggrey Memorial Senior High School area to pick a vehicle. While waiting, Mohammed came and told her that since it was late, it would be difficult for her to get a vehicle and he sent her to Vagyam Guest House at Brafo Yaw, a suburb of Cape Coast, where he worked, to pass the night.

The prosecutor alleged that Mohammed forcibly had sexual intercourse with the victim twice that night and in the morning sent her to a cook at the same guest house and introduced the 15 year girl as his niece. Chief Inspector Azasoo alleged that Mohammed came back for the victim from the cook three days later, and spent another night with her and allegedly had sex with her again, and the next day he asked the victim to go home without giving her anything. The girl revealed the ordeal to her father as soon as she got home and a complaint was lodged at Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit, Cape Coast and a police medical form was issued to the victim to send to a hospital for examination.

He said Mohammed was later apprehended and interrogated and he admitted the offence in his cautioned statement and pleaded for forgiveness, saying he was sorry for the act.
