Security agencies ready for December polls - Kan-Dapaah

Nyinahin (Ash), Nov 25, GNA - Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister of Defence, has given the assurance that security agencies in the country were poised to ensure incident-free elections in December. He therefore challenged Ghanaians not to fear to go all out to cast their votes in their numbers for successful elections. Mr Kan-Dapaah was speaking at the inauguration of the Atwima-Mponua Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Nyinahin in Ashanti at the weekend.

The Defence Minister urged members of the youth wing not to use the association as an avenue to meddle in chieftaincy disputes or activities that could erode the purpose for which the wing was formed. He entreated them to be concerned about activities that promote the progress of the NPP to enhance the party's chances of chalking a landslide victory in the elections.

Mr Kan-Dapaah cautioned the members against voting 'skirt and blouse', stressing that they should vote massively for the NPP to retain the party in power for an accelerated development of the nation. Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Atwima-Mponua, promised to be supportive of the activities of the youth wing to ensure its growth.
