Mrs Matilda Amissah-Arthur, wife of the Vice President, has donated medical items to the Axim and Half-Assini Government Hospitals in the Western Region.
The items included four trousers and overcoats, three pieces of thermometers, clutches, three adjustable drip stands, stethoscope and walker, insulin syringe and Chairs.
Mrs Amissah-Arthur, who was on a working visit to the region, advised staff of the hospitals to take good care of the items, in order to improve the quality of health delivery.
She said Government would not abandon health facilities in the rural areas in term of infrastructure development.
Mrs Amissah-Arthur commended health workers who had accepted postings to the rural areas for their dedication to service.
Mr Paul Agyakwah, a Hospital Administrator, expressed appreciation to the government for the gesture.
He appealed to philanthropists and other corporate entities in the country, to support medical care with facilities such as beds and mattresses.
The Second Lady was accompanied by the Regional Minister, Mr Paul Evans Aidoo and some Heads of Department.
